0.21.0 — Inlet opens on your diary now · newest Android build

Open Inlet and you're in your diary. The day's question sits on a card over your entries — answer it, skip it, or tap Try another question for a different one. Home and its feed of cards are gone.
The tabs along the bottom are Diary, Connections, Write, Notifications and Profile. Notifications has its own tab, and the bell is gone from the top of every screen.
A quick entry counts as your answer for the day.
One and done is gone from Profile → View; the diary does the same job now — one question, then your entries.
Me is a tab in the Diary, right of Stories: a page written from your own entries — what you keep coming back to, how your entries have changed, what's still open, what you're looking forward to. It's headed with your name, and it fills in once there's enough written to say something true.
Photos is its own tab, right of Me: the ones you wrote about first, then the past month, then everything further back. Tap one to see it full screen with the words from that day.
Aims moved to the end of the Diary's tab row, and the row scrolls sideways when it doesn't all fit.
The words show up in the field as you talk. On iPhone they had been waiting until you tapped stop; on Android they had arrived in lumps.
A day with one written entry shows your words on its Stories card. It had been saying "One entry." and nothing else.
Today's photos sit in one strip at the top of the day, and today's card lists your quick entries.
You can add a video to an entry, up to 30 seconds, from your library. It sits beside your photos with a play mark; tap it to watch. The camera still takes photos only.
The streak pill names the week — "3 days this week". After a missed day it had been telling you to start your first day.
The card you write in fills its sheet, and quick entry takes two thirds of the screen.
On iPhone, Inlet is on the App Store now. Install it from there and it updates itself; it replaces the TestFlight copy. theinlet.app/download has the link.

0.20.0 — The same writing card, wherever you start

The card you write in on Android is the same one you get everywhere else — the heading, the emoji row, and the photo button sitting in the footer beside Voice and Save, instead of on a toolbar of its own.
One and done has its emoji picker back on the phone. It had been missing entirely there.
Save can no longer be pushed off the bottom of the screen. On a small phone with the keyboard up it could sit below the edge with no way to reach it; the card scrolls now.
A save that fails says so. It had been showing the same tick as a save that worked, with nothing to tap to try again.
The keyboard opens with the card again, instead of waiting for you to tap the field.
You can save an entry that is only a photo, with no words in it.
Tapping out of a card and then cancelling it no longer leaves the half-written entry in your diary.
Cancel works while a photo is still uploading.
A name you type with an @ is underlined on Android, the way it already was on the web.
Today's entries have a title above them.
The line about who can see what you write now appears on the phone too, not only on the web.
Photos in your diary load, and they load fast. They had been going blank after a few minutes in the app, and every one of them was being sent to your phone at full camera size.
Tap a photo to see it full screen. Swipe down to close it; if an entry has several, page between them.
Photos taken on an iPhone and saved as HEIC now show up on Android and on the web, where they had been broken.

0.19.0 — Notes gets its own tab, and Voice stops stumbling

Notes has its own tab in the Diary, and you put things in it by talking — your words appear in the field as you say them, rather than arriving all at once at the end.
Swipe a note sideways to delete it.
Notes stopped saying everything twice. If you dictated into a note, what you said could land in the field a second time.
Voice stops giving up on a stumble. A brief hiccup from the phone's speech engine now retries instead of ending the recording — Rosie hit this the morning she updated.
The sound when Voice starts and stops now works on Android and on the web. It had been off by default on Android and never played on the web at all.
On iPhone, the switch in Profile is now the only thing that silences that sound — the ring/silent slider no longer does.
The update link in Profile takes you to the app's page in the store, where the button says Update. It had been sending you to the tester-programme page, which has nothing to install.
Memory quiz cards are pickier about your feed: a question only appears there when every detail in it comes from what you actually wrote that day. The rest still show up under Games.
Both game cards now go by one name, Memory quiz — and a question can no longer call you "the writer".
A third way to use Inlet, in Profile → View: One and done. The whole day is one question, worded for the time of day. Answer it and you land on your answers, with your last few days under them.
The "Rich day" label is gone from the diary. It graded how much you wrote, which is not Inlet's job.
The Write button opens the same card One and done asks its question on — one writing surface, whichever way you got there.
Your day's answers line up: the questions in one column, everything you wrote in another.

0.18.0 — Pick the voice that reads to you, and a lot of small things stopped lying

On Android, Inlet comes from Google Play now and updates itself like any other app — no more downloading a file by hand every time. If you installed Inlet from a file before, theinlet.app/download has the Play link to move over. Nothing changes for iPhone; TestFlight already worked this way.
Profile → Reading Voice lets you choose the voice that reads a note back to you. Every voice your phone has, best ones first, and you tap one to hear it before you keep it.
Read-aloud stops when you leave the note. It used to keep reading from a screen you had already left, with no way to stop it short of reopening the note.
The daily question takes your voice properly now — the same labelled Voice button as everywhere else, instead of the small unlabelled mic it still had.
You can paste a photo straight into an entry, on both the phone and the web.
The quick-entry sheet says what to do again: it has a prompt in the empty field, and it asks before throwing away something you had started.
A quiz now says which day it is asking about, so “who did you meet?” can’t read as today.
Type @all and the list stays open so you can pick it, the way every other tag already worked.
When something can’t load, Inlet says so instead of pretending it’s empty. A dropped connection used to show “no aims yet” to someone with aims, a finished-all-the-games screen offline, and “this entry isn’t shared anymore” for an entry that was still shared.
A quiet day in your Diary now just says what it holds — “two check-ins” — rather than reassuring you about it.
The Diary tab stopped reloading itself over and over in the background, which was quietly using your battery and data whenever that tab was open.
Voice keeps going when the phone's speech engine stumbles. It used to stop at the first hiccup and say voice wasn't working on your phone, which was usually untrue — the next try would have worked. It still tells you if it really can't hear you.
The sound when Voice starts and stops actually plays now. On Android it had been silenced by the phone's ring/vibrate switch, which is not the same thing as turning your media volume down — so almost nobody had heard it. On the web it had never played at all.
Profile → Voice sounds turns that sound off, if you would rather it stayed quiet. The short buzz when Voice starts and stops stays either way, since that is the half that still works in a pocket.

0.17.0 — Notes — talk to a note and it rewrites itself

A new place for working notes, in Profile → Notes. Say what you want to work on and it opens that note, or starts one. Talk, and what you said gets folded into the right part of the note rather than added to the bottom.
It tells you what it's about to change before it changes it — including anything it wants to delete — and you can undo more than one step.
It can read a note back to you, and you choose which voice does it — Profile → Reading Voice, tap one to hear it. This is the first build with a voice of its own, which is why it needed a new install rather than arriving on its own.
Voice now makes a small sound when it starts and stops, so you can tell without looking at the screen.
Notes are yours alone. They are never shared, and nothing in your journal reads them.
Voice tells you it heard you: a short bell when it starts listening, and another when it stops.
The wave beside the mic follows your actual voice now — if it is moving, you are being heard. It used to move either way.
Tap into the middle of what you have written before you talk, and your words go in there rather than on the end.
Your feed is ordered for you. Your recap and your gratitude stay at the top; everything under them is arranged by what suits the time of day and what you have already written.
A game question you have already answered no longer comes back in your feed.
Every memory card is multiple choice — pick an answer and the day it came from opens underneath, with your own words and that day's photos.
Type @all to share an entry with everyone you are connected to at once.

0.16.0 — Talk it out — voice entry gets a real hold-and-tap button

Voice now has two ways in: hold the mic button for a quick line, or tap it to keep talking hands-free until you tap it again.
The text field grows as you talk, with a soft glow around it while it's listening.
Adding a photo now sits right next to Voice and Save, not tucked below the card.
The screen stays on while you're mid-sentence — it used to fall asleep on you.
Diary has a new tab, Games — a few questions each day, pulled from what you actually wrote. Relive a memory or try a quick quiz. Score's just for the round, never a streak to chase.
You can pick your own @username in Profile now.
Light and Dark appearance is a real switch, right on the Profile screen — it used to be tucked in Content settings.
Your timezone is editable in Profile, so reminders and your day roll over at the right time.
On Connections, Add someone and Start a group sit at the top of the page now, above your people and your groups — no scrolling to the bottom to make one.
A connection who wrote today gets a ring around their initial, and each group row shows the faces it is made of.

0.15.0 — Sign in with Apple, and a picture of the days you've written

Sign in with Apple is on the iPhone sign-in screen now — the same one tap as the Google button, nothing new to remember.
However you sign in — Apple, Google, or an emailed code — the same email address lands you in the same account, so your writing is always where you left it.
Your activity is a picture of the days you've written — one square per day, on the Diary hub and above your list of days. Every day of the week is labelled, and the days still to come are drawn as empty outlines so the week finishes.
The bell is on every tab now. A weekly review, someone tagging you, news about the app — you can reach it from wherever you are instead of only from Home.
Connections leads with the five people who wrote most recently and says when each one last wrote, with a cheer button right on the row — you no longer have to wait for a notification to cheer someone on.
A group's member list now shows what your connections list shows: who wrote when, in the same order, with the same cheer button.
Open a connection and you can read back through the entries the two of you have shared with each other, either direction.
Notification settings now say what each switch actually turns on, and each notification reads as one line instead of two.
The share box says what sharing does, under the buttons and every time: sharing an entry with someone lets them read just that entry.

0.14.0 — Sign in with Apple, and one account no matter how you sign in

On iPhone you can now sign in with Apple — same tap as the Google button, nothing new to remember.
However you sign in — Apple, Google, or an emailed code — using the same email address now lands you in the same account, so your journal is always where you left it.
Writing cards now have a Save button. Inlet still keeps what you type as you go, so nothing is lost — Save is just how you say an entry is finished.
Tag someone and press Save, and Inlet asks right then whether to share that entry with them — one question, two answers. Whoever you named with an @ is who it goes to.
The tabs moved. Write is the button in the middle now. Connections took the place of Alerts, and news about the app itself moved to the bell at the top of Home.
Connections is a page as well as a tab: everyone you're connected to, who has written recently, and a button to cheer someone on whenever you feel like it — you no longer have to wait for a notification to do it.
Adding someone is one place and one link now. Send it however you like; whoever opens it connects with you.
Any card you can type in, you can now speak into. Tap Voice and it writes down what you say. If you'd rather it read cleanly, "Tidy this up" will do that — and "Use my words instead" puts it back exactly as you said it.

0.13.0 — Your days, your aims, and your values in one place

The Diary tab is one place for your updates, your aims, and your values, each with its own page behind it.
Values are new: pick a few that sound like you, and Inlet will sometimes ask which ones your day actually had in it.
A day can hold several photos now — add a few, see them in a strip, remove any one.
Tagging works on the phone now: type @ while writing and pick a connection. You choose right there whether they hear about it tonight — one line, nothing shared from your entry.
Once you've done enough for the day, the whole app quietly turns to paper and tells you you're done — no more counting rings.
Adding an aim now sits at the top of Your aims, and the check-in card says which aim it's asking about.
Tag notifications in Alerts show a proper symbol instead of a dot.

0.12.1 — iPhone fix, take two

If Inlet on iPhone still closed the moment you opened it after yesterday's update, this build fixes it for real. Nothing else changed.

0.12.0 — Taps that answer back

Cheering someone, picking a mood, and finishing your one thing now answer back — a small tap you can feel and a bit of motion, so you know it landed.
Inlet opens on iPhone again. If you installed from TestFlight and the app closed the moment you tapped it, that's fixed — it was missing a piece it needed to start.
If something does go wrong in the app, it now tells us what happened so we can fix it — instead of leaving you with a blank screen and no trace.
Your feed now opens with Your Recap — a short read of your last stretch, written from your own entries, with a link into your diary.
Speaking your one thing works again, and the feed stays out of sight until you've answered or skipped.

0.11.0 — One question on the way in

Opening Inlet now starts with one question — the one thing you want to share today. Answer it with a few words, an emoji, a photo, or your voice, or skip it. Either way it's done until tomorrow.
Aims are easier to keep track of. One card checks in on a single aim at a time — Still going, Achieved, or Archive it — and a running list shows what's active. The Intentions page lets you edit or delete any of them.
Your daily reminder now comes at the hour you picked. If you'd set one and never saw it, this is why — it was being prepared and then held until the next day, every day.
If notifications are switched off for Inlet, the app now tells you instead of quietly sending nothing — with a one-tap way to turn them back on, from your feed or from Profile → Notification settings.
Reminders can reach you by email now, not just on your phone, and there's a short weekly review on Sundays. Every email has a one-click way to stop that kind of message on its own.
You can delete your account and everything in it from Profile → Account.

0.10.0 — Straight into your feed

No more setup step. Signing in drops you right into your feed — your name and an evening reminder are set up for you, and you can change either anytime under Profile → Account.
Your first feed opens with a few good places to start: one good thing about today, an emoji for how it felt (and why), and something you want to make happen — with more prompts right below, no tapping required.
We ask once whether you'd like the evening reminder, and say what it's for before turning anything on.

0.9.0 — Passcodes are gone, Connections got a refresh

No more passcodes, anywhere. Signing in is just Google or an emailed code — nothing to remember.
Connections is easier to use: inviting someone now puts the link front and center to copy or share, and each person shows a quiet "Active 2 days ago" line so you know who's around.
You can add a photo right from Write — no extra step.
The evening question is now the same no matter how far out you're thinking: "What do you want to make happen — today, this week, or further out?" Just type it; no more picking a timeframe first.

0.8.0 — A calmer sign-in and a tidier Profile

The sign-in screen has a new look — a sunrise over the water, with the two ways in: Continue with Google, or an emailed code.
Your Profile is reorganized into clear sections — Account, Connections, Premium, Notifications, Content settings, and About — each one tap away instead of one long list.
Connections is now a real place to manage your groups and the people you're connected to: see who's in a group, copy the invite link, make someone an admin, or remove someone. Removing a person is never a block — you can always re-invite them.
Night mode and the feed layout (vertical or deck) now live under Content settings.

0.7.0 — The app now keeps itself fresh

From this version on, most improvements arrive on their own — the app picks them up when you open it and asks for a quick restart. No more re-downloading.
When a bigger update does need a fresh install, a small note appears at the top of your feed and on your Profile with a download button.
Tap the version number on your Profile (or the link on the download page) to see this list — what's new, any time.
You can now send feedback on any card in the app, just like on the web — tap the little feedback icon next to the ×, say what's off, and a fix gets drafted overnight.

0.6.0 — Sign in easier, jump straight in from links

Signing in with Google now uses the real Google button and works smoothly in the app.
Family invite links (theinlet.app/join/…) now open directly in the app instead of the browser.
The deck view centers each card with a peek of its neighbors on both sides.
Adding a photo is now one button — pick from your library or take one.
Echo is redesigned around your voice: talk, and it writes with you.

0.5.0 — A proper front door

A new welcome screen: continue with Google or have a code emailed to you — no more hunting for the passcode first.
First sign-in gets a short one-time setup, including choosing whether Inlet may nudge you.
Signing out now fully signs you out — reminders stop following the previous person on a shared phone.

0.4.0 — Calmer cards, night mode, your people

Every card opens straight on its question — labels and clutter removed.
